My research broadly involves language processing, word-access, lexical semantics, and bilingualism. Below are my current projects, organized by topic.
Conversations in background noise, like in a crowded room or at a restuarant, are notoriously more effort-inducing. In collaboration with audiologists, my current work explores how listening in noisy conditions impacts a listener's ability to use semantic information to compensate for the degraded acoustic input.
The quickening adoption of AI tools like ChatGPT in our daily lives warrants new investigation into how it affects us as the users. In a new investigation, I am exploring how the voice chat function of ChatGPT affects conversation.
